There are few occasions when dining out that we thoroughly enjoy every aspect of our meal. A large menu typically means frozen food. Home 231 breaks away from the norm with a seasonally driven menu, serving classic comfort food with a modern twist. Their produce and meats are locally sourced which is evident upon first bite.
Our good friend Matt from Just Wine About It took us to Home 231 for brunch earlier in the Summer of 2018 and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of food coming out of this kitchen. For starters we were recommended the house donuts served with chocolate, crème anglaise, and salted caramel spreads. For our main courses Dustin had a perfectly cooked medium hanger steak & eggs served with a gorgeous golden hash brown & fresh fruit, Holly had the chicken with Johnny cakes, and Matt had the quiche of the day.
Since it was brunch we obviously had to have some champs. Mimosas and a bottle of Moët chilled at the table and consistently topped off for us made this place an exceptional dining experience.
The wait staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about the local food they are serving. If you’re in the Harrisburg area, heck if you’re in another state, this is definitely a place to check out for low priced, high quality dining.
